Subramanya Bhujangam

The Subramanya Bhujangam is a powerful 33-verse Sanskrit hymn composed by the great philosopher-saint Sri Adi Shankaracharya in praise of Lord Subramanya (also known as Murugan, Kartikeya, or Skanda). The word Bhujanga means snake or serpent, and the hymn is meticulously structured in the Bhujangaprayata metre, which beautifully mimics the graceful, undulating movement of a slithering cobra.
